Forward Simon Gagne has been skating and could be back in the Tampa Bay Lightning lineup for the opening game of the NHL Eastern Conference final against Boston.
General manager Steve Yzerman said on a conference call Wednesday that Gagne is "feeling good. We're hopeful he'll be ready for Game One."
Bergeron szemelyeben a legjobb face off jatekosat lesz kenytelen nelkulozni a Bruins(?) Az sem lesz hatrany a szamotokra. Van valami ujabb infotok ezzel kapcsolatban?
Mindossze erdekessegkent: A legtobb College diplomaval rendelkezo jatekos jatszik a csapatotokban az NHL-ben. Szamszerint 11, a 12. Scarface, aki 2 evvel fiatalabb Rolosonnal.

A list of the Pros and Cons of facing the Bruins in round three
Pro: The Bruins also swept their second round matchup, and the league has generously given both teams 47 days to rest.
Con: Several key players in the series will be either retired or dead by the time it finally starts.
Con: Boston seems to have finally lived down their 3-0 collapse to the Flyers last year.
Pro: They did so by sweeping the Flyers who thought it might be a good idea to hire the Beach Boys. Not to sing the National Anthem. To take turns playing in net.
Con: The Bruins have far more personnel in their organization from Canada.
Pro: The Lightning have far more personnel in their organization named Steve.
Pro: Speaking of, Steven Stamkos has finally learned his lesson about taking untimely boarding calls.
Con: No one seems to know what the hell the rules for boarding are anyway.
Pro: Marty St. Louis will finally have someone around to get things off the top shelf of his locker for him.
Con: Zdeno Chara isn’t allowed in our locker room.
Con: Boston has chiseled veterans who know how to win championships such as Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Shaq.
Pro: Wait a minute…
Pro: The Bruins have a goaltender born in the crustaceous period just like us.
Con: He’s about eight feet wider than our goalie.
Con: The further along the Lightning get in the playoffs, the more likely their general inexperience may come into play.
Pro: Tomas Kaberle spent most of his career in Toronto, so it’s not like he knows what the hell he’s doing right now either.
Pro: The Bruins have Gregory Campbell on their team, ensuring interest in the series by the NHL front offices and the series will serve as a nice answer to their usual question of “Tampa Bay who?”
Con: Guy Boucher may get frustrated constantly answering why penalty killers Nate Thompson and Adam Hall are suddenly averaging 35 minutes a game.
Pro: Tim Thomas has been known to have a temper, doing crazy things like slamming his stick, pushing the net over, and throwing waterbottles, all of which are guaranteed to make you giggle.
Con: Zdeno Chara has been known to have a temper, doing crazy things like taking 108mph slapshots, pushing buildings over, and throwing opposing forwards into stanchions, all of which are guaranteed not to make you giggle.
Pro: The Bruins may have the only defense in the league capable of turning the puck over as much as Tampa Bay’s does.
Con: The Lightning may have the only defense in the league capable of turning the puck over as much as Boston’s does.
Pro: Fans with hearing impairments may have develop a new interest in the sport now that Andrew Ference has established himself as an absolute master of sign language.
Con: They may be immediately turned off when they see what he has to say.
Pro: The Bruins have a certified neurologist with the team at all times, and have him available to diagnose any and all head injuries that occur during the game.
Con: I work with some of the best neurologists on the planet and none of them have ever heard of a “Dr. Recchi.”
So, let’s watch that again, with this in mind…
Contact made with the head? No.
Hit from behind? Nope.
Did the player crash awkwardly into the boards? Nah.
Was the hit shoulder to shoulder? Yep.
Did Campbell have the puck? Yes.
Did Stamkos leave his feet? No.
Did Stamkos take more than one stride? Nope.
Someone on the Bruins board just posted about how "St. Pete is a dirty ghetto" (partially true) and that "Boston is a legit city" (as opposed to Tampa, which is clearly just pretending to be a city), therefore they deserve to win the series. What an idiot.

Lightning coach Guy Boucher said LW Simon Gagne will practice with the team today and indicated he should be ready to play when the East final against the Bruins begins.
That Boston is expected to be without concussed center Patrice Bergeron, who has a team-high 12 points and is a mainstay on the penalty kill, doesn't change Tampa Bay's plan, Boucher said.
"They still have all the tools to be a lethal team."
Besides, he added, "We're expecting everybody to play. I know Bergeron supposedly has a concussion, but he's got a lot of time to get back. I'm expecting him to be back, so we're expecting them to have their full team. We're not hoping for anything to go wrong with them for us to do well. If that's the case, we shouldn't be here."
It is uncanny the similar paths the Lightning and Bruins followed this season.
Both had 46-25-11 regular-season records for the same 103 points. Both fell behind by two games in their first-round playoff series. Both swept their second-round opponents.
So, when the teams meet in the Eastern Conference final, Lightning coach Guy Boucher predicted low-scoring games decided by "the smallest detail."
"One thing for sure," Boucher said, "it's going to be a war out there."
In the first round of the playoffs, the Lightning played a team with little skill but a whole lot of heart.
In the second round, it played a team full of skill but with little heart.
The next opponent for the Lightning will be the Bruins, a team with a pile of skill and loads of heart. And grit. And physicality. And leadership. And solid coaching. Just about all the ingredients that make up a Stanley Cup contender.
The Bruins completed a sweep of the Flyers on Friday night with a 5-1 win to set up an Eastern Conference final showdown with the Lightning. It's stunning the Lightning has made it this far. Few are surprised the Bruins have done so. Now that the teams will fight to reach the Stanley Cup final, how do they match up?
If history — recent and long term — is any indication, the Lightning could be in trouble. Boston has been a house of horrors for it over the years. Tampa Bay has played 35 games all time in Boston and won only four. It has lost 22 in regulation and three in overtime/shootouts. There have been six ties.
This regular season the Lightning lost both meetings in Boston, an 8-1 shellacking Dec. 2 and 2-1 March 3.
At home this season, the Lightning fared better, winning 3-1 Nov. 22 and losing 4-3 Dec. 28. The Bruins won the second game on a power-play goal with 19 seconds left after a controversial boarding call against Steven Stamkos.
Another thing to note: Lightning goalie Dwayne Roloson, who has been impressive in the playoffs, was acquired Jan. 1, when the teams had just one game left in their series, and he didn't play that final game. Mike Smith did.
The Bruins create matchup problems all over the ice for Tampa Bay. They were fifth in the regular season in goals scored and allowed the second-fewest number of goals.
Their statistical leaders —Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, David Krejci, Nathan Horton, Brad Marchand — aren't marquee names, but they are talented, and the Bruins are deep. Lucic was the team's only 30-goal scorer, but the Bruins had 12 players score at least 10 goals. Much like the Lightning in these playoffs, the Bruins are getting contributions from everybody. Fifteen players have scored.
The real areas of concern for the Lightning are the Bruins' defense and physical play. Led by 6-foot-9 captain Zdeno Chara, the Bruins have one of the biggest (it averages 6-3, 215 pounds) and nastiest defensive corps in the NHL. Boston is the most physical team left in the playoffs and could inflict a few bumps and bruises on a smaller Lightning team, especially if the series goes six or seven games.
If Tampa Bay can get through Boston's rugged defense, it has to deal with one of the best goalies in hockey, Tim Thomas. Thomas, 37, is the favorite to win the Vezina Trophy, given to the NHL's top goalie. During the regular season, Thomas led the league in goals-against average (2.00) and save percentage (.938), and his numbers have stayed about the same in the postseason.
The Lightning is now playing with the big boys. It isn't facing a team like the Penguins, who were missing their two best players. It isn't facing a team like the Capitals, who still haven't figured out how to win in the postseason. The Bruins are a much bigger and tougher test, with emphasis on "bigger" and "tougher."
